    Hi Rolf,

Thanks for adding the new option for deleting revisions. I’ve been wanting something like that for a long time!!

I don’t know if I’m misunderstanding something, though. I’ve read the forum threads that prompted the new feature here and here.

The way I would use this feature is that I would set both options, not one or the other. That is, personally I would set let’s say a maximum of 3 revisions, and delete anything older than 30 days. That way, once the 3 revisions kept are older than 30 days, they will be automatically deleted.

But the way I see it right now, I can either set a maximum number of revisions or timed deletion. So if I choose a maximum of 3, then they stay there indefinitely (even if I don’t need them for that long). But if I choose timed deletion set for 30 days, then all revisions stay there until they expire (even if I only need the few most recent).

It would be most ideal to be able to use both features together. So, only a maximum number of revisions are kept, and only for a certain amount of time. For me, the way it’s currently set up, the timed deletion feature isn’t very useful because it allows unlimited revisions to be kept, and I save my drafts often so I end up with a lot of revisions.

This is actually how I interpreted the requests in the above-mentioned threads as well, but since your testers were happy with the results, maybe I misunderstood…

So, please let me know if I’ve misunderstood something. Otherwise, I really hope you’ll be able to allow setting both options. Thanks!

    Hey Julie,

    I got your point.

I was thinking about that, but thought it might become too confusing for the users.

I will give it a second thought.

    Thanks for your feedback!

Thanks Rolf ?? I can see why it would be confusing to users — I had to write a lot just to make sure I was being clear ??

My feeling on it is that if you make the maximum option mandatory, as it used to be, then make timed deletion optional, those users who don’t want to mess around with it too much won’t have to worry about it…

    Cheers!

    Hey Julie,

    Just released v4.1.1!

Now you can use both options at the same time, as you suggested.

    Thanks for your feedback!

    peace,
