Once I installed this plugin, I updated the Login url as “login”.

And by default, the url is like https://example.com/?login

It works fine with this URL, but after I refreshed the permalinks setting from “Plain” to “Post name”, it’s not working anymore.
The new Login url should be https://example.com/login, but accessing this page returns me a 404 NOT FOUND error.

    WordPress version: 6.4.1
    whl_page in wp_options table: login

May I know how can I resolve this issue? Thanks!

    Hello,

Thanks for using WPS Hide Login.

WPS Hide Login doesn’t work with ? in the slug. You should remove it.

To log in, you’ll have to deactivate the plugin reaching your files by FTP. Rename the plugin folder in wp-content/plugins.

There is no ? in the slug, I’m using login as the slug. Since the default permalinks setting is “Plain”, the login link becomes https://example.com/?login, but the point is that the link works fine and I can access the login page using this link.

But once I updated the permalinks settings to “Post name”, the login link becomes https://example.com/login, and this link is not working, it returns a 404.

I’ve also tried re-enabling/reinstalling the plugin, renaming the plugin folder, but still the same result.

Got same issue since 2 days ago, renamed the wp-admin to xxxxx in the plugin setting page, was working fine, but it redirect to 402 and I can’t access dashboard to disable/edit plug in setting . Pleas provide instructions on how to disable or reset it.

That’s the way WordPress works. Plain permalinks add ? in slugs. Then, even if you set WPS Hide Login with “/login” as secret slug, it will be renamed by WordPress : /?login. And then, it won’t work because it will be different from the slug you set up.

I’m not using “Plain” as the permalink structure, I’m using “Post name”, so what I can see under the “WPS Hide Login” section is

    Login url https://example.com/login/

But it returns a 404 error.

What’s the preferred permalink structure to make this URL works?

    Hello,
Did you refresh permalinks after your change ?

Did you try to deactivate every plugins except WPS Hide Login to check if any conflict occured ?

Hi there I am having a similar issue.

I have our new login link bookmarked and sometimes I get 404 and sometimes I get our login page.

Once it forwarded to 404 there is no way of getting onto the login page. if I use a different browser with the same link it usually works. But this is very annoing.

    Can you please help?
