Just to wrap ctvonline question up for anyone who stumbles across it. He was selecting the ‘gallery-caption.php’ template, which loads the /nextgen-gallery/products/photocrati_nextgen/modules/ngglegacy/view/gallery-caption.php template. You need to add the voting tag to this template if you use that option.

I am trying to keep the FAQ up to date, but there are many new NGG v2 display options, so it will take awhile for me to document them all

    I’m getting a serious error now…

Something was going on with NGG at first where I was getting errors. I re-installed, and now every time I try to add the code back in <?php echo nggv_imageVoteForm($image->pid); ?>, I keep getting this error.

Fatal error: Call to undefined function nggv_imageVoteForm() in /home/rophoto/webapps/rop_live/wp-content/plugins/nextgen-gallery/products/photocrati_nextgen/modules/ngglegacy/view/gallery-caption.php on line 79

I want to add the tag to

    /nextgen-gallery/products/photocrati_nextgen/modules/nextgen_basic_singlepic/templates/nextgen_basic_singlepic.php

But as before i cannot find this file in the NextGen Gallery directory. All i see is,

    Plugin Files

    nextgen-gallery/nggallery.php
    nextgen-gallery/pope/README.txt
    nextgen-gallery/non_pope/class.nextgen_settings.php
    nextgen-gallery/non_pope/class.photocrati_installer.php
    nextgen-gallery/non_pope/class.photocrati_settings_manager.php
    nextgen-gallery/non_pope/class.photocrati_cache.php
    nextgen-gallery/index.html
    nextgen-gallery/changelog.txt
    nextgen-gallery/license.txt
    nextgen-gallery/wordpress_helpers.php
    nextgen-gallery/readme.txt

Ive spent a good amount of time trying to locate it, but have been unsuccessful.

@ctvonline: It sounds like you’ve deactivate NGG Voting. But when I look at the gallery page you emailed me earlier, it still seems to load fine?

@lazaro11235: I can’t believe that those are all the files and directories in the nextgen-gallery plugin. Do you have a link to your site?

Then here is the absolute full path to the template you need to alter:
    https://www.playfulpatterns.com/wp-content/plugins/nextgen-gallery/products/photocrati_nextgen/modules/nextgen_basic_singlepic/templates/nextgen_basic_singlepic.php

thank you so much i managed to get to it with just some minor edits to your link,,,, 3 days of searching,,,finally over,,,,,,thanks again…..

I have same issue as lazaro11235 the only files I see are as follows

    nextgen-gallery/index.html
    nextgen-gallery/changelog.txt
    nextgen-gallery/pope/README.txt
    nextgen-gallery/nggallery.php
    nextgen-gallery/readme.txt
    nextgen-gallery/license.txt
    nextgen-gallery/non_pope/class.nextgen_shortcode_manager.php
    nextgen-gallery/non_pope/class.photocrati_resource_manager.php
    nextgen-gallery/non_pope/class.photocrati_installer.php
    nextgen-gallery/non_pope/class.nextgen_settings.php
    nextgen-gallery/non_pope/class.nextgen_style_manager.php
    nextgen-gallery/non_pope/class.photocrati_cache.php
    nextgen-gallery/non_pope/class.photocrati_settings_manager.php

Never mind I figured it out…

But is it possible that the voting is activated once I click on the thumbnail?? Meaning I want visitors to vote on the large picture not the thumbnail

    Thanks

If you have Premium (and I think I remember that you did), then you can only have voting on the popup if you want.

Firstly, you need to be sure you are using the ‘shutter’ lightbox effect, as that is the only popup supported. Then, remove the voting tag from the gallery template so it no longer shows in the thumbnail listing. Lastly, turn on the ‘show in popup’ option for the images you want the voting to show for.

Awesome stuff…. Great memory! Yes I do have the premium

Ok theres only one problem… I dont see where I can turn on the show in popup option

I just noticed its in the manage galleries section but the option is not there…. how do I make option appear?

Had to delete premium and re-install now the options are there but it still doesnt work on pop up. What am I doing wrong??

I’m going back to 1.9 and see what happens
