New location of php code in ngg 2.x

You can add the voting tag to the /nextgen-gallery/products/photocrati_nextgen/modules/nextgen_basic_gallery/templates/thumbnails/index.php file if you are using “NextGEN Basic Thumbnails” when inserting the gallery.

I will try go through all the options and see what else needs to be changed, but for now that should get you started

Thank you for your fast reply. The stars appear under the thumbnails but unfortunately the voting itself gives an error message – failed try again … (sorry do I do not know the original text as a translated the messages to german)

This might happen if you have put the voting code inside the <a> tag wrapping the images. If you can give me a URL to see, I can check for you.
I find the best place to put the tag is AFTER the <div class="ngg-gallery-thumbnail"> is CLOSED.

No problem DrT, glad I could get it working for you.

Just so anyone who sees this later knows what the problem was: NGG Voting isn’t getting the correct URLs for the voting links if you have WP installed in a sub directory. The next version will resolve this officially, but if you are having this problem, let me know, and I will explain how to patch your current version (2 line copy/paste, so it’s easy).

I’m just waiting out all the major NGG v2 issues to surface before I release the next version, which should be soon.

I’m having the same issue as the user above. I too have WP in a sub-directory (rop_live). What’s this 2 lines of code???

I am trying to place the code into the singlpic function in NGG v2, however for the life of me I cannot find were it is located in the editor. I also tried to find the /nextgen-gallery/products/photocrati_nextgen/modules/nextgen_basic_gallery/templates/thumbnails/index.php file and cannot seem to locate it. HELP>>>>>

@ctvonline: I have added the patch to the ‘development version’. You can download that version from here, under the ‘Other Versions’ heading. There are no unstable new features in the dev version, just this patch.

@lazaro11235: I don’t know where the ‘single pic’ functionality is in the new popup NGG inserter thing, but you can still just use the [singlepic id=x] shortcode. If you do use that shortcode, the template you need to add the tag to is: /nextgen-gallery/products/photocrati_nextgen/modules/nextgen_basic_singlepic/templates/nextgen_basic_singlepic.php

Please note that the path is inside the NextGEN Gallery directory inside the plugins directory, not inside the NextGEN Voting directory.
