  • Hi charloub can you let me know what size are your images?

There might be some images that are very large in size and that could be the cause why it freezes at certain percent.

The user has 2700 images – all in various sizes. I did find that some of them are named incorrectly… This didn’t seem to be a problem until Sept.

His naming was something like this: “tinplate.2.jpg” The last two series were like this of 8 images/library item.

I had downloaded the cateblog – then fixed the image names on the server and fixed them on the .cvs file.

Not sure if this is the problem – but it will be a tedious task to go through the files and correct. Tell me if you think it is worth it.

Meanwhile, I will go through the files and downsize any images that I find that are very large. Again a tedious task… Time for a glass of wine!
Thank you for keeping with me.

Hi charloub, when it comes to regenerating 2700 images, keeping them to a certain size and using a proper naming convention will help the regenerating process.

There could be other limiting factors behind when it comes to such a large number of images. For example the database size can influence the process, the php version, memory allocated to WordPress by the host and the server hardware configuration etc.

What we are doing now is carrying out a process of elimination.

Lets hope this helps you and yes it is going to be a tedious task for sure however it is the only way to test this issue.

    Kind regards
