New installation home page going to wrong directory

    updated – sorry – this was a cache issue, it is working fine in another browser. I cannot find how to delete this post. Many thanks
    I have just installed WP into the home directory of https://www.lahsoc.org.uk but the home page is redirecting to a (now) non existant directory https://www.lahsoc.org.uk/newsite
    The installation was given the home directory to install in, and the settings page has both WordPress address and site url as https://www.lahsoc.org.uk
    I can see nothing in the htaccess that suggests the misdirection.
    the other pages work fine –
