• I love this plugin and have never had any problems with it. I just installed it to a fresh WordPress install with no other plugins activated and am unable to backup the .htaccess file. Error in WP dashboard says “Warning: copy(/home/t4u2mwtf/public_html/.htaccess): failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /home/t4u2mwtf/public_html/wp-content/plugins/all-in-one-wp-security-and-firewall/classes/wp-security-utility-file.php on line 107”.

File does exist in that location – permission is 644. AIOWPS log file says “FAILURE : htaccess – Backup operation failed!”

What am I missing here? Thanks in advance for your help.

Check if the following directory exists on your installation:
    /wp-content/aiowps_backups

    What are its permissions?

Can you please check your server logs to see if there is any error or issue being logged? (if you can’t find the server logs ask your host provider to help you)

    I installed the plugin but
    dont have a folder: /wp-content/aiowps_backups
    unable to backup .htaccess
    or database – nothing

    what to do

Hi @jan did you try to create a backup? If you did, it should have created the folder you mentioned. If it didn’t can you create it yourself and see what happens. Or reinstall the plugin and try again.

    Regards
