    Hello.
I am not sure if this a WordPress issue, but I own a site and today google search console notified me about dangerous / phishing content in it. As I saw there was a new folder in my public HTML, named “ii” which included “Hotmail” folders and other stuff not needed for my site I would like to ask if anyone has experienced anything like this. May this be caused by any of my plugins? I generally don’t like using a lot of plugins in my sites. I only have my builder, my security plugin, cookies plugin……….. Is it a virus?

  • Hi eiffeatuoil,

From your description, it sounds like the work of a nulled plugin. I would suggest that you first disable all the plugins and rename/move that folder. Then, after enabling all the plugins check if the folder again comes back.

If it does then disable plugins one by one to find the plugin causing the issue. Also, you may want to check the user sign-in log for any suspicious activity.

    Best,
