I created a table so huge, that now i wish i could easily split it into 2 tables. Thats when i realized the following feature would be nice to have:

    For example:
    – I highlight 100 rows
    – Then I click a new button (the new feature)
    – I am asked whether to “add selected rows to a new table” or to “append to an existing table.”

I would naturally select “add to a new table.” Now i could safely delete the selected rows from the existing (huge) table.

Just a thought, hope you find it potentially useful.
    Thanks!

    Hi,

thanks for your question, and sorry for the trouble.

I see what you mean, but to be honest, I don’t think that this is something that I will add to TablePress. I can’t remember getting a similar question before, and therefore, I assume that this would not really helpful for the large majority of users. Instead, it might even make the user interface more complicated for new users.

I would therefore suggest that you use a workaround that only requires a few extra steps:
Just export the table to a CSV file, and open that either in a text editor or in Excel. Then, just cut/copy/delete the desired rows there, to create the desired smaller versions of the table. Then, simply re-import the edited CSV file into TablePress again, either replacing an existing table or appending it to another one.

    Regards,
    Tobias

    Sounds like a good workaround.
    Thanks!
