New event shortcode question

Hi,

I tied this shortcode to list the new events, but in vain:

[events per_page=”12″ orderby=”modified”]

The order seems to be random, however, I would like to see latest added / modified events on the top of the list.

Please be so kind and let me know, wht is the right shortcode for this.

In an another topic you suggested to use the publish date, but in your documentation I found only this:

Orderby – Supports title, ID, name, modified, parent, rand, event_start_date
