new default user role

  • Hi,

    I was setting the “New default user role” to Student (In Settings –> General) and does not seem to be working. People getting to register on my site still do as “Customers” instead of “Students”. Does anyone know why it may be?

  • If you have woocommerce installed, it will be over-riding the default new user level.

    You could install a role manager plugin to handle this or have a read of this article and edit functions.php :

    By the way, if I insert this new lines of code, do you know If I would loose them when Woocommerce actualizes? I am not very knowledgeable about computing but I have read before that if some “hard code” was changed, you may loose it on newer versions.

    Anyway, thanks for the help, the problem was fixed as for now!
