• Hello Guru’s
I recently rebuilt a site for my client and it was working nicely until the host accidently deleted the database for the site.
Is there any way that I can make a new database for this existing site or do I have to start all over again.
    Many thanks
    Ozzie

  • Since the host accidentally deleted the database maybe they have a backup to undo what they did or can help you restore one of your earlier backups.

As I know, all hosting have backup, in my case for example they have 30 last days backup, 1 for each day. Your hosting must have some. Write to there support.

    Hi JNashHawkins and mohamed_bo
    Thank you guys for responding.
I contacted the host and they have told be they are sorry but have no back ups.

    I am shattered.

    Regards
    Ozzie

That a big problem, only for this I change immediately the hosting. I hope at less you still have the texts, because with WordPress all setting and all texts are saved in database. The only thing you can rescue is pictures from the folder uploads.
I am sorry for you but no way to restore the site without the database.
For this it is really important to check those details when you pay a hosting.

    Thanks mohamed_bo
Yes I will certainly be suggesting to my client the need for a change, however, it also means that I will have to rebuild the site again grrrr.
