New credit card addition to an existing subscription product fails
-
Hello!
We are using WooCommerce on WordPress page, and we have in WooCommerce the Braintree gateway.
We are building a new webshop, using dummy customer accounts, and using the testing credit cards data of Braintree. We have found an issue with customers changing a new credit card into an existing and on-going subscription of our product.
Essentially, when customer goes to the subscription, and he has 2 options, either to 1) Add a new card or 2) use another card, which has already been saved on the customer’s account page.
We have 3DS enabled in our Braintree. No CVV or Postal codes are required. When doing the 1) scenario, an error message of “verifyCard options must include an amount.” appears.
When doing the 2) scenario, an error message of “”The data passed to the 3D Secure provider was in invalid format. Please check your entries for invalid values.”
We are using Braintree test card numbers, and these card details are OK for making new purchases, including subscriptions. But they cannot be put to an existing subscriptions. With PayPal there is no issue for updating that as the new payment method to such subscription.
What can we do?
