New cpages not being created?

  • Two related symptoms that started with version 4.4:

    1. My paginated comment pages are displaying more than the “Break comments into XX top level comments per page limit I have set,

    2. When a new page needs to be created based on that number, one is not.

    My cpages seem to be consolidating — I have instances where articles had more than 40-50 cpages and they are deleting and consolidating the comments into lesser pages — HELP!
