• So, I created a test site espresso.dreamhosters.com and designed the website. I then ported it to the live site battleandbrew.com
Everything ported smoothly for the most part and i fixed the few things that didn’t.
But now I’m noticing that when I make new content on BattleandBrew.com, it not only shows up there, but also on the test site, and when I share links to it, it is being directed to the espresso site, then forwarded to the battle & brew page.

I hadn’t noticed this till recently when facebook started saying the links were suspicious, and showed that even though the link i share is battleandbrew.com/star-wars-day it goes to espresso.dreamhosters.com/star-wars-day and then re-directs to the B&B site, despite the event being created on battleandbrew.com

Will deactivating the test site fix this, or destroy all the events?
I’m not sure why when making the events on battleandbrew.com it’s also creating them on espresso.dreamhosters.com. This is also happening with the blog posts.

  • What steps did you take to port it?

They’re separate sites, the espresso.dreamhosters.com and battleandbrew.com ones. When I look on your panel, I see them both as fully separate hosting.

Looking at your site, I see you have a lot of cached content pointing back to espresso.dreamhosters.com, but that should get cleaned up if you flush your cache.

How did you move the site over? There is (sadly) a lot of DB stuff that has to be updated, and that requires plugins (or some command line savvy – wp search-replace espresso.dreamhosters.com battleandbrew.com works on DreamHost).

I had used the wp-search-replace to change the espresso.dreamhosters links to battleandbrew.com ones. They are hosted seperately, and I’m worried that if i remove the espresso one that the B&B one will stop working.

I moved the site over using the wordpess file on how to do it.

I can understand some posts not porting correctly or being fixed with search and replace, my main concern is why do they keep populating on the espresso site when made on the battleandbrew site, and why are they linking there instead of battleandbrew?

Any ideas on why when I make new posts on battleandbrew.com it is creating them on espresso.dreamhosters.com?

    [ No bumping please. ]
