• Reading through your info pages, a new comment on a cached page should mark that page for refresh which might take “a few seconds.” Well, on my server it still hasn’t happened after a few hours. Manually deleting the cache for the page with new comments caused the page to refresh near-instantly, however. Traffic load was pretty much unchanged all the time, so it’s not that the server had been extremely busy before and now wasn’t.

That’s WP Super Cache 1.4.4 with PHP caching. Comments are handled by WP and Jetpack. Am I supposed to enable Dynamic Caching here? I’ve left it disabled as per default, as I was under the impression that comments don’t count as dynamic content (and recaching does show them properly).

Problem persists today. Now I’m trying to disable Preload mode which I had enabled. The description sounds as if it might prevent automatic refresh of pages when comments are made.

Christoph, I’m running into the same problem. Have you figured out what was wrong?

Yes, it was indeed Preload mode. Preload must be entirely disabled, or pages won’t update to reflect comments. That’s a pretty absurd limitation that makes Preload essentially useless unless you disable comments (or don’t use Jetpack?). Disappointing that this is entirely undocumented, and also that nobody saw fit to answer this simple question.

Thanks Christoph. In my case, that wasn’t it. It’s strange really – new comments showed correctly for a few, and then just stopped. I can’t figure it out and have decided to return to w3tc for the time being.
