There is not such a case. The only reason can be unapproved comments. If a new comment is unapproved it can’t be loaded.

OK, on my site whats happening is new comments are not being loaded until a page refresh but reply’s to existing comments do get loaded. Where to begin looking for the issue?

Please leave some example URL. We’ll test it too.
Also make sure you’re using different users with different emails when you checking live update. And make sure you’re using different browsers to be able imitate to separate users.

Ultimate Member – Real-time Notifications <- disabled that and things work as expected, enabled it again and wpDiscuz still function as supposed to but Ultimate Member Real-time Notifications no longer works.

Appears there is a conflict with the two plugins.

So the behavior I’m now having is that if no comment has been posted at all then when one is no live update happens but if there is at least one comment posted then new comments and reply’s are updated live, is this normal?

Sure, this is the wpDiscuz logic. If you don’t have comments on a post, wpDiscuz doesn’t load Live Update scripts. This saves lots of resources and memory usage. Because on most of websites 90% posts/pages don’t have comments. And it can’t check for a new comment, because those scripts are not loaded and not initiated.

For anyone else with Ultimate Member Real time Notifications plugin installed with this then for whatever reason Ultimate Member Real-time Notifications needs to be activated after wpDiscuz has been installed/updated else no live updates.
