• Hello all,

I’m the author of Pivot-Blacklist and I don’t even use WP for blogging but something happened and pissed me off so bad that I decided to write a new kind of anti comment-spam plugin for WordPress. It’s called WP-SpamQuiz. It’s the most low-fi solution to comment spam one could possibly think of but also the most powerful one. No bot will crack this. As an added bonus it’s 100% accessible and doesn’t require javascript. I came up with this idea quite a while and implemented it in Pivot-Blacklist. Quite some people liked it and I got pissed off by spammers so I thought let’s give it a shot and write a WP plugin.

Users will have to enter the answer to a trivial question when posting a comment. You can have one or many questions of which one is chosen randomly. The plugin is available for testing on my WP test blog:

I hope you guys will find my contribution to the fight against spam useful.

Please post any comments or remarks you may have on the blog. You can also test the plugin because it’s installed on the above url!

  • Sounds an awful lot like WP Gatekeeper.

More anti-spam tools makes us all safer, though. Thanks for sharing this.

I had no idea that existed. Several people told me my idea wasn’t available for any other blog. Oh well… it’s here now for whoever wants it ??

I have updated it to version 1.1, for those who are interested. I have yet to try Eric Meyer’s plugin but some people have told me my version is easier to use. I don’t know if this is true but you might want to check it out ??
