• Hi there all!

    Just like to announce that Amazon Media Manager 1.5 for WordPress is now available from https://www.sozu.co.uk/software/amm/

    It’s been a while in coming, but the new version is so far improved from the old one it hardly seems fit to call it 1.5, it should be 5.0 or something BUT, to stay in synch with the wordpress value for which it’s designed we went with 1.5

    The new system has:

    * Inbuilt search
    * Options page for, well, options
    * So many configurable ways to output stuff you’ll hopefully be able to do anything!
    * Support for displaying items in posts using quicktags
    * Go and get it now. ??

    Seriously, head over to https://www.sozu.co.uk/software/amm/ and grab a copy, there might be one or two little bugs we’ve not squashed but on the whole it should be all good.

    Sozu doesn’t have a forum or comment system yet, so for the meantime, keep your eyes on these forums and on https://www.denyerec.co.uk/index.php?p=198 where you can comment for the time being.

    If it calls for it, we’ll start a support thread in here too.

    Enjoy!

    ** PLEASE NOTE**
    Due to our host, occasionally you may get “Document Contains No Data” when trying to access the Sozu website.

    If this happens, just try again a few minutes later, they’re working out some issues.

    Yep ??

    Give it a whirl, if you have difficulties get in touch via my website https://www.denyerec.co.uk and I’ll help you out.

    Thanks Mate.

    I shall give it a try. Thanks very much.

    Looks like a great plugin. I was able to get it working on mysite, except for the small image.

    No matter what I try, it just displays the no image gif. It is putting in a proper url to the item image in the database table. But the function call to the image doesn’t seem to be returning a proper url for the image source line.

    I have the images working, but I can’t figure out how to change the size of the image in my sidebar. How do you change the size displayed?

    Vryce:
    Could you provide the ASIN of the item you are adding, as well as the exact function call you are using to display it?
    Contact me via email (The one registered to me on the forum here is fine) and I can help you track down the problem in detail.

    Userx:

    To change the size of the image, you simply pass a different value to the autoImage function.

    The valid values are:

    ‘small’
    ‘medium’
    ‘large’
    And any reasnoble pixel size, like so:

    $amm->autoImage(50);
    $amm->autoImage(‘medium’);

    Which would return an image 50px wide.

    denyerec – Thanks for the info, but I can’t seem to get the images to change size. I am apparently doing something wrong because all I get when I add <?=$amm->autoImage(‘medium’);?> to the function “amm_default_output” in amm_extras.php is a long URL, no picture.

    Maybe I’m working in the worng place. Where exactly do I add what you suggested above?

    Thread Starter denyerec

    (@denyerec)

    Ah!
    Ok, those functions just return text!

    What you must do is this:

    <img src=”<?=$amm->autoImage(‘medium’);?>” />

    I made the functions return text-only for flexibility, as you may want to add CSS classes, or titles and stuf to your images.

    Hope this helps!

    denyerec – Worked beautifully! Thanks to you and whoever else for the wonderful plugin. It’s the best I’ve seen thus far, at least for this particular feature. Great work.

    I downloaded it last night and started reading the documentation. Looks like it might be fun and leaps and bounds ahead of the previous incarnation. I haven’t attempted using Amazon Media since I was using WP Wuh-Wuh last year!

    I love when I have a new toy to play with!

    I just hope you upgrade your rating from “Bitch Kitty” there Joni ?? Admittedly, the old AMM was a sod, especially considering the installation perils for the newer versions of WordPress…

    All gone now though! ??

    (@denyerec)

    Oh also don’t forget, if you use the plugin please link through to the site, it’s pretty much all we ask for! There’s buttons on the AMM webby, but text links will do just fine ??

    How can I get the plugin to display the IMG ratings instead of TEXT?

    I am using this to call…

    <?php amm_getMedia('amm_default_output', 4, AMM_ALL); ?>

    Thread Starter denyerec

    (@denyerec)

    If you want to displaythe rating stars, you need to add a function to the template you’re using.

    The function you want to use is funkyRatings();

    If you call getmedia with :

    <?php amm_getMedia(‘amm_debugt_output’, 4, AMM_ALL); ?>

    and then have a look at that function in amm_extras.php you should see pretty much everything you need to put together your own template. That and the documentation of course ??

    Hi! I’ve gotten everything working, but I can’t get the links to use my associate id. I changed the field in amm_constants.php, but I did so after I had activated the plugin. Was that too late? Do I need to change it elsewhere? Thanks!
