What’s really ridiculous, it’s people whining on WordPress repository about plugin developers trying to make a living out of their code. You don’t like that? Don’t use it, use something else, it’s your right to do so but don’t come here and pollute rating with your one star review of something that is given to you for free.

If people can’t make a living with their code, they should discover profitable monetization practices or use other ways to make a living. There are thousands of free plugins that have stable free and paid functions that don’t fluctuate between each other. If you make paid that previously was free, well, you use poor monetization approach and will get negative reviews. Also, I don’t have to rate something with 5 stars only because it’s free.

Monetization practices are not to be discussed here, altough I understand it could be annoying when you are used to some features and all of a suddden they become available to paid users only. But again no, you’re not entitled to come here and give an absouletely mischevious review which tells nothing about the plugin’s real strenght and reliability. It only shows how little consideration of other people work you have.

My review has direct relation to the plugin capabilities, that were cut down with the last update. You are right, it’s annoying when something cut down, and exactly for such situations one-star rating exists. I have every right to rate plugins here. Return the previous functionality and I will change my rating. If you want more money, make additional paid functions, but don’t cut off these free that existed.

I don’t work for and I’m not connected to Advanced Ads, I’m just a user like you. A happy user. And no, you don’t seem to understand the point I was trying to make. So end of discussion for me, I only hope that some new user will read this and make up his mind on wheter to use or not this plugin.

    Hi arskrigitsioniets

I, personally, agree 100% with the topic of your review, “Never make previously free functions paid”. Since I am unaware of such a change in the last versions of Advanced Ads, I can only think of a misunderstanding or bug causing the described behavior and the reason for your disappointment.

It is and was always possible to create ads before your content as well as in the <head> section of your website. If you want to place ads in the header of your website, I recommend using the manual placement and integrating this into your theme.

Please be so kind and provide additional information about the behavior you are facing by opening a support topic. I would love to take a closer look at your setup, identifying the root for a missing placement after the update.

Looking forward to your feedback, so I can learn from it.

    Best regards,
    Henning

    Hi!

I looked at this another time, and it turns out some interface movement. I’ve found a possibility to create ads in the head, but it’s available automatically only in menu of places (not when you create ads). So, the function still exists, I just coudn’t find it in the interface for the first time. Changed my review score.
