This is obviously an issue for SEO. There’s a 404 fr every tag in my site.
I crawled with visual seo in “crawl mode” which highlighted the issue. Crawl mode shows a view as the google bot sees it.
I was unaware that such a page was being created and dont understand why it would happen. Surely it must be the theme doing this.
Any ides how I can stop it happening.

There are also pages with domain.com/ neve-home/blog-article-name.php
I can not find anything to explain where the “neve-home” is coming form. These pages are also now causing 404 errors.
What I dont know is whether changing the structure of permalinks now will retrospectively change all pages and posts or whether it will cause more 404 issues?

Any ideas would be really helpful, thanks for reading this

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

  • Hey,

The tool should also mention where those link mentions are coming? How the crawler found them?

Not really, broken links in a page yes, but this wordpress stuff is different.
I have solved some of this for anyone else who has the problem and knows about it
    1. I installed an SEO plugin and ticked the boxes to apply “NONDEX” to the tags and categories etc. You could just use theme editor and do it at tag level. Or go to robots.txt and deny each of these pages. The sysntax is easily found online.I have forgotten it now.
That stopped the crawler finding an empty page called tags.
The “neve-home” is still a misery but at least it is not seriously impacting anything.

    Hope that helps

    Hello @edtaaffe,

    That’s an interesting point.
This would help other users in case they encounter the same issue.

    Thank you for your inputs.
