  • Hello!

I recommend you to go through the steps outlined in the Create A Network article, again or if you haven’t.

Compare the installation of both sites, and also ensure to apply changes both on wp-config.php and .htaccess files.

DreamHost also has an article that might be helpful.

If you still face the issue, you can contact DreamHost Support to help you.

    Thanks!

    Hello,

    Thank you for your input.
Found out the Dreamhost FTP link lead me to “wrong” database, for whatever reason the database was a wrong duplicate and the config.php thus didnt change anything on the actual website. though changes to the theme files made changes to the real site (?!) from this “wrong” FTP link. (Dreamhost support changed the link for the correct one now).

Solved the problem by downloading a 3rd party config.php editor plugin which fetched the real config.php file for me (also revealing I had a different database linked to it than on the config.php file shown by the Dreamhost FTP).

Hard to explain and makes really no sense, but I think I messed somehthing up way back when originally creating the site and thus the Dreamhost FTP lead to “wrong” place.
