Network install fails on 4.7.4

I tried to network activate. I got “Sorry, you are not allowed to access this page,” an error saying I have to activate buddydrive on the same site where buddypress is activated (it’s network activated), and advice to deactivate this plugin, which I did. Fixes or advice welcome.
