• I don’t need help. Just wanted to let you know that I updated PHP to 7.3, then 7.4, then 7.5, and the latest WP update. Top Bar wouldn’t display on any pages no matter which PHP I set, and caused minor display and function conflicts with my theme (which is Javascript heavy) and Slider Revolution. Dropdown nav menus no longer worked, and sliders disappeared from all pages too. I’m not sure what was happening, but as soon as I deactivated Top Bar, everything began working again.

    Hi there,

Can you tell me what theme you are using?

Also, were you using the latest version of Top Bar?

I can’t reproduce the issue on my side but I really would like to help you and solve this.

Maybe you have a staging site you could let us look at. If you can activate Top Bar (even if not showing) and send us some credentials at https://wpdarko.com/support, we’d be happy to help and solve this.

Keep us posted, thank you for your feedback!

    Hi there,

I have the same issue, I’m using Divi and after updating to Top Bar 2.0 the tpbr_front.js file throws an error, something about an unexpected identifier in the Chrome Console.

    “Uncaught SyntaxError: Unexpected identifier
    at HTMLDocument.<anonymous> (tpbr_front.js?ver=5.5:62)
    at i (jquery.js?ver=1.12.4-wp:2)
    at Object.fireWith [as resolveWith] (jquery.js?ver=1.12.4-wp:2)
    at Function.ready (jquery.js?ver=1.12.4-wp:2)
    at HTMLDocument.J (jquery.js?ver=1.12.4-wp:2)”

That error also breaks all javascript on the page so my contact forms and carousels stop working. If I downgrade to Top Bar 1.2 it doesn’t have the same issue so I’ve done that for now.

    Hi,

    Are you talking about 3.0?

Can you please reach us here during the weekend: https://wpdarko.com/support and send us a URL to your site please (and a copy paste of the error)?

I found a similar conflict, where site featured were not working. Once I deactivated the plugin, the features worked again.

Hi, We just had this same javascript error “unexpected identifier” with the Top Bar plugin as well, and we disocovered the issue was that we used an apostrophe in the button. Our banner button said “What’s happening” and this apostrophe must have conflicted with a single quote mark in your code. Once I removed the apostrophe in the button text, the error went away.

For those who have experienced this issue, did you also have punctuation in your button?

Hopefully this can be resolved in an update so we can use an apostrophe if needed.
