• Reason to use the plugin:
    We are in the process of evaluating a couple of solutions to offer translations of our plugins and need a WP integrated solution.

    Pros:
    * Active community
    * Many nice to have features such as auto-translations offered as plugins
    * Community driven development
    * The original developer is still around, participating, and seems like a nice guy.

    Cons:
    * Lack of user-oriented instructions or knowledge base – wanted help out but got no response.
    * Lack of a project plan at least at the conceptual level documenting high level tasks and milestones
    * Lack of requirement design and analysis resulting in bottom-up approach to software development
    * Project looks more like a pure conversion/migration project with limited or no enhancements.
    * No clear definition of who is doing what and when. For example, one of our developers identified a defect and documented in the support.. The defect is still around and is not documented in the github issue list, nobody assigned, no resolution path etc.

    Verdict:
    I understand that this project is not a commercially driven project and developers are kind enough to contribute their own free time to get something going. However, we need a solution developed with more structured approach.

    We’d like to watch this project and see where it goes. We wanted to stay with the stand-alone edition but the interface needs a lot of work and we do not time customize it based on our needs. Shame on us. I plan to get to this one a couple months later and reevaluate.

  • Another Verdict:
    Seriously, some people should not be able to vote plugins.

    I just wanted to share my opinion. I think that’s what the review pages are for. There is nothing personal.

    If you really want to contribute to this project, try sharing your own opinion and write a review for the developer. Good or bad, it does not matter.

    Developers love people commenting on their products. I personally do not like “love fest” reviews that much since they don’t really highlight shortcomings or contribute continuous improvement. And make sure you include your desired solution, so someone else get an idea and improve on it. That’s how progress happens. Peace.
