The facts at the Artisteer web site state that if you only need one theme, to find an existing user and pay them to produce it for you; Therefore that is what I’m attempting to do.

I downloaded the demo version of artisteer, composed a theme, and saved it as an artisteer file. I believe using this file and my custom header image it would only take someone a few seconds to export the custom wordpress theme. Gladly pay a small fee via paypal (let me know what you would need), but my wife would not be happy if i spent $50 on my blog.

    thanks,

I broke down and bought Artisteer, and my wife didn’t give me too much grief. Good thing, as have made several subtle tweaks since then. Was able to get my google ads in a third column working very easily using the basic text sidebar widget. Very good software for those of us that know the basics, but have trouble coding stuff from scratch.

Would you mind much explaining how this relates to WordPress?

Sure Saurus. Artisteer creates custom WordPress themes from scratch (sorta) using a graphic user interface. You start out picking a theme close to what you want, then adjust all the little details to your liking. Finish by exporting your theme, ftp to your blog, and activate it. Easy.

Great for us noobs that may know a little css and html, but not really ready to build our own theme from scratch. I tried many themes, but never could get find one that meet all my needs. On my Amazon wish list was CSS and WordPress books; and would still like to improve my knowledge in those areas, but Artisteer is a practical shortcut.

Honestly, I posted the follow up message as some users were still emailing me offering help. =]

Ah, okay. But I think you could do much the same thing for free HERE

Then again – I personally would not pay $50 bucks for any software when there are so many free templates and such around that lend themselves to customizing without much knowledge of code.

    Interesting, though.
