• Bluehost is listed here as the #1 recommended host and I recently moved a couple of sites to Bluehost. Paid over $200 for hosting and now have 3 days to find a decent host.

    What I want:

A host who has ticket support. Bluehost has “chat”. I’ve wasted literally HOURS with people who have no clue whatsoever staring at that idiotic chat window.

Eventually I found out that my subdomain can’t be SSL unless I purchase an IP at $72/year. What a RIPOFF! I moved that domain back to my current host.

I tried to upgrade to their “pro” account that comes with an IP, but that’s not possible unless I cancel the existing account and open the new PRO account and migrate everything again.

One domain is still there, but none of the links worked. My friend who had also recommended Bluehost because he has a server there and had no clue how their hosting sucks found out that you have to install a “blogger” tool to make the links work.

WTF???? Bluehost told me nothing and WHY do I have to install that?

I’m guessing that’s so they can charge the $150 for migration! Well, I don’t want to deal with that scummy outfit anymore.

I had a bunch of work done on that domain while at Bluehost that I don’t want to lose and now I need to find a decent host, up to about $20/month.

Also found that the Bluehost account setup is BIZARRE, as all domains are in one file directory which surely will eventually cause problems. I see a subdomain “forum”, what happens when I move another domain with the subdomain “forum”?

I don’t want to find out.

Need webhost manager, like a reseller account and a good support system. Appreciate any pointers!
