We are trying to create a staging site, however Siteground staging feature is not recognizing our WordPress install so we are unable to proceed. Any suggestions around this?

    Hi,

Would you mind giving us some more details about what is happening?

Also, does the same issue appears when HMWP Ghost is disabled?

Any extra detail will be helpful to better understand your situation.

i guess what I’m asking is if we disable hide my wp ghost, will it affect our site in any way, or we can switch on and off as needed and no issues? If there would be no issues, I can try and disable and see if we can setup staging. I’m assuming site ground is looking for WordPress in the headers or something and not recognizing the site and therefore not allowing us to proceed with staging.

    Your thoughts?

When HMWP Ghost is disabled, all the redirects will be removed, so you can disable it without any worries as it won’t negatively affect your website.

If you want to be extra sure that everything remains the same you can use the Backup/Restore features to save a copy of your settings. When the plugin is disabled and you activate it again, it will give you a prompt to restore the previous settings, but it’s not a bad idea to have them saved just in case.

And most likely it can’t recognize the site because the default WordPress paths are hidden by our plugin to a custom one you’ve setup or a preset.
