need to set a POST template regardless of category

  • I’ve been testing various plugins and hacks all day and I can’t find a way to pull this off… grr ??

    what I want to do is set a post template just like you can a page template. the point being to allow me to have certain types of posts, video for example, with an entirely different look and feel than a regular post.

    this plugin https://guff.szub.net/2005/07/21/post-templates-by-category/ comes close except that my video posts won’t be in a special category, they’ll be going into the same category as the normal posts so it won’t work ??

    does anyone know how I can do this? I need to get this done asap. TIA!

    because these posts belong in various categories, right along with the normal posts.

    so, while I might create a ‘video’ category that these will all go into, they will also belong in other normal categories like ‘tips’ or ‘vacations’
