• How do I report this plugin for including a link to their site. My understanding is that is against WP plugin policy.

I install the plugin only to find if I want to remove the link I have to pay for their upgraded service. Here is the message they have in their FAQ’s.

This is against WP plugin directory rules. Because of this I give you 1 star delete the plugin and report you..! Sorry but open source is open source…! you can have upgraded features but I honestly think WP plugin directory is becoming overwhelmed with people taking advatage of it.

You can buy Starbox without links and subscription from: https://starbox.squirrly.co/product/starbox-the-author-box-for-humans/ or Go to your use profile just switch off “Powered By Starbox” (under the social icons). It has a global effect for all the authors.

I am pretty sure I read something in plugin publishing policy that does not allow this recently as I been thinking about having a plugin developed that I need and donate back to the WordPress community.

To be honest I am starting to get sick of seeing all the upgraded plugins are nothing more than a way for people to market their services.

WordPress group needs to put some better controls in place because it completely defeats the purpose of open source.

I have no problem with some products having a paid upgrade features. But including links or limiting features to where it is useless without paying is bullshit..!

I personally think WordPress needs to also resign plugin directory like Joomla so you can search based on FREE or paid, or even upgrade.

    Zorro…!
