need to migrate a few comments

  • I have a new WP blog, but it’s not live yet. Domain stayed same BTW. Brought existing content over from a different platform a week ago. Now I’m almost ready to go live, but I need to bring over a handful of additional comments that have been made since I exported content. Is there a way to do this?

    I don’t want to reexport all content as I’ve made too many changes to it on the wordpress platform.

    In addition, the comments that did come over with the original migration now show up as ‘anonymous’. Is there anything I can do to fix that? There aren’t many, and I’d be ok with editing manually if I need to. Thanks.

  • Sophieanne, it looks like that you didn’t properly planned your export and import. As you already said, you do not want to correct your faulty made import because you already worked too much with the faulty data, I’m a bit disappointed because there will be only very little help for you.

    The only thing I can imagine, is that you copy the few comments over by manually. The same for assigning the original poster to your comments, you need to do that manually as well.

    Yes, you should be able to edit the date in the according date field. You find it in the comment editor on the right side below the approval status.
