Need to make my localhost site/ blog accessible without opening webmatrix

  • HELP! Please bear in mind that I am quite green to this; I use wordpress via webmatrix and have to open webmatrix before being able to open my localhost site/ blog.

    But, I need someone else to be able to open this site from their computer. I have closed webmatrix and tried to open my localhost with all of the extensions possible, but it just will not open unless webmatrix is open.

    Could someone please advise if/ how I can achieve this? Can it only be achieved once I actually have “proper” hosting?

    Please help, and please be patient with me!!
