Need to know if this is possible, Photo proofing

  • I have a family member who wants me to create a photography website for her, she requrest a few features and i said i would look into them to seee if i can do it. I have been searching but cant really find what im after.

    So she would like her website to have private photo albums that her clients can buy directly from basically.
    Example: She takes photos on a family, she gives the family a login for the website, the family log into the website and see thier private photos from the days session. the family can proof the photos and select the ones they like, choose a size etc and purchase them.

    She has seen this done and it sounds great, i just dont know if there is a good way to do it. I was hoping there would be an extension for the photo proofing thing, and the ecommerce thing.
    (i have asked her for examples of where she has seen it, i am waiting for her responce)

    I hope somone can help, i just cant find what im looking for. ??

    add: i have found a few things like proofbuddy and proofpress but i dont know how good these are.

    I am actually starting this project tomorrow. I decided to go with a plugin called SellMedia. Looks like it has huge potential, and I plan to pair it up with either the wordpress built in password, or with thier option.

    No worries; hope it works for you. I looked at a lot of options including: Photoshelter, Smugmug or Zenfolio integration with WordPress, and after deciding I liked Photoshelter the best the price put me off. So I then looks into all kinds of plugins; tested a few, and decided Sellmedia seems like the way to go.

    Like I said I should be starting this tomorrow, I would love to hear how you get on. ??

    Me too with you, and I am a little worried because I think I looked at this and it was too cumbersome, will double check though. I am wanting a page with links – like this, a friend using Zenfolio, https://www.brischettoproofing.net/f688458934 which then links through to a proofing gallery etc, and not sure how to get that first page as I have posted. Manual make a page, add images linking to galleries??

    I cant remember why I didn’t like Zenfolio. It was a while ago that I did the research for this project. What is your problem with Zenfolio?

    Well I think I am just going around in circles, trying to do a whole thing in one go and researching all the possibilities while working full time and staying up very late at night ?? My requirements are very specific and customisation highest on the list.

    It is the cost (A160per anum) which I guess isn’t too bad, and the commission ie Sell products from partner labs (15% fee*)
    including Nulab Professional Imaging (15% fee*)
    Self-fulfill your own orders (5% fee)
    Sell digital products (10% fee)

    Then you have Shoot proof which is cheaper without commission charges https://www.shootproof.com/plans – so I am trialling that, and I keep thinking of other options and going off to check them out. I have a site, and WordPress blog so why not use that etc ect

    Main reason I want to go with SellMedia; Free. Looks like more work, but I think worth it as long as you’re with a decent host. These companies are charging quite a fee sometimes.

    Are you going to get the business bundle for $99?

    Nope; the main thing is free, and I think the only extension wanted was the watermark one. which is a bit cheaper: https://graphpaperpress.com/?download=watermark

    If I get more clients wanting a similar service I may purchase the full thing.
