I need to be able to give access to 301 Redirects to someone with an editor role – but it seems to require the manage_options capability. And if I turn on that capability for them it opens up way too much stuff for them.

Is there anyway at all around this? Thanks!

    Hello,
Unfortunately the current release version doesn’t include the ability to modify the capability level required to set the options of the plugin. It’s on my list for the next version. In the meantime, I’ve created a modified version that uses a custom capability, which you can download from my website.

Note that this version moves the menu item from Options to Tools, so that it can be available to roles which don’t have the manage_options capability.
To make it available to roles other than administrators, grant them the s301r_manage_redirects capability. Let me know if it doesn’t work out for you. I’ll make sure this functionality is included in the next version of the plugin.

    Hi,

Just wanted to second this request. As part of a security review I’ve downgraded lots of my clients to Editors because basically they can’t be trusted not to share their login details with anyone who asks for them!!! However now they can’t manage their own redirects.

Happy to use this for now but what do think the ETA is for the next version Scott??

    Cheers
    Kevin
