Need to edit blocks of content

    I have seen this done in a couple of themes in the past, but can’t find any today to see how it works.

    I have a website where I show a static page as my homepage. I also have a header that is created by including a separate template using php in the header.php.

    Within this included header I have 3 small blocks of text that I want the blog owner to be able to edit from within WordPress admin.

    Is there any way that I can set up these blocks as separate pages within admin and use a bit of php to include them in the header?
