Need to create new index.html file
-
My web site wasn’t being found online due to outdated software, so I switched to WordPress 3.5 and the Twentyeleven theme. I am using it with static pages with only one section for the blog, so this is more a website than a blog. I like the result: https://www.worksofbart.com Everything is working great. I added a child theme and added a portfolio slider, revised font sizes and padding so as not to effect the original theme. When i type in worksofbart.com it goes to the home page. Great.
My issue is with the old index.html file on the root of my server. Do i need to update it so it points to my site correctly? Not sure it is doing anything since it has an old url link. I want to update that url link in the code. It also has Google analytics and StatCounter analytics in there that are not working now that the site has changed. That is a separate issue, and I saw online that those go elsewhere (Google to footer for example) so I will deal with that next.
But for now I think the index.html file needs updating since it has an old url link? Am I right? I was going to change this area in the code:
"url= NameOfTheFolder/"
to not sure what. Any ideas on what to put there? Everything is in the html folder on the root of my server and wp-content etc are folders there as well. What should I do to update the index.html file so it points at my site correctly?Thanks for any help you can provide.
