Need to Combine Elements – Don’t Know How

  • I’m not even sure how to best title this request, but here’s what I want to do.

    For my website, I use the Paalam theme which I’ve customized considerably, primarily through trial and error. My website is:

    The four main portions of the page — menu, header, body, and footer — float over the background. I’d like to meld the four portions together into one. Why? Because I’d like to use a darker background color and don’t want colored strips from the background to show through between these bits. I don’t know how to achieve this. Can anyone tell me how to do this, or point me toward a source of help? I intend to upgrade the WP version but want to do these changes first.
