I just decided to try this plugin. Works nicely, but I’m trying to change “Profile” for non-admin users that are signed in.

When a non-admin user signs in, they only see a “Profile” menu item that links to their user settings, as opposed to the “Users” menu item that an admin sees.

Any idea how to change this? Hope that makes sense.

Try changing “Users -> Profile” instead. I think that should also change the top level “Profile” menu that non-privileged users see.

Thanks Janis. The plugin doesn’t show Users -> Profile. It has Users -> Your Profile. I changed it, but that didn’t work for non-admin users. It did change that particular menu item for admins.

That’s the one I meant. Sorry for the confusion.

What exactly do you want to change? Custom permissions set on “Users -> Your Profile” should also apply to “Profile”, but other properties (e.g. menu title) probably will not.

Unfortunately, “Profile” menu is a bit of a special case. It doesn’t exist for Administrators, and Admin Menu Editor only knows how to edit menu items that are actually present in the admin menu when you open the editor page.

Okay Janis – thanks for looking into it. Your plugin is helping me with other stuff, I appreciate it!
