Need to change order of posts in categories but not home page

I have a video site where video thumbnails display on the homepage. It also has a drop down menu for table of contents.

I would like to reorder the videos (posts) on the category pages without changing the order of the videos on the homepage. I can change the order of the posts on the category pages but it automatically changes the order on the homepage.

Is there a way to do this? I’ve tried the plugin Post Types Order but it doesn’t work for this.
