Need text wrap or column solution in twenty eleven

Hi,

I am for the first time playing with .css using a child theme of twenty eleven. It’s going really well – I have had a lot of success with these forums, but now I am stuck on a few issues that I am sure will be simple for someone out there!

The main thing that is bothering me is on the homepage: I can’t find a way to get the welcome line on the left and the slideshow that I have made (using WP-Cycle) on the right. See rainbow-jerusalem.org

I thought of using either columns or text wrap. I even installed and tried a few different column plugins but none of them were as simple to use as they promised and I would prefer to learn the code if there is a not-too-tricky way of doing it.

If any of you gurus out there can tell me whether to use columns or text wrap and the best way to go about it then that would be great.
