Need space around text – Thesis theme

if it’s custom.css, should .format-text h3 be prefixed with “custom”?

fishgun, I don’t use Thesis. I would say – put style in custom.css. And no, .format-text h3 should NOT be prefixed with “custom”

I tried that in custom.css – nothing happened.
Tried it in layout.css – and it pushed everything in the content box over to the left, including the image, creating a gap between left sidebar and content.

actually, it seems to be working fine for everything apart from .format_text p

What I see is that you have this for your paragraph style in layout.css

.format_text p {
margin-bottom:1.538em;
padding-right:20px;
}

add
padding-left: 20px;

I already tried that, but I removed it for now because it creates a gap between the picture and the sidebar.
