Need some help with final tweaking on Theme site

Now, for my questions…
1. How can I slow down the Featured Content Gallery so the slides don’t change so fast? And how can I make the box that the description text appears on be a little more opaque and less “see through” so the text is easier to read? I tried the Featured Gallery Settings in WordPress but it didn’t work (I think the template uses its own system).
2. How can I get rid of the Popularity code that shows up at the end of the text descriptions and category posts (for example AKPC_IDS += “11,”;Popularity: unranked)? See “Contact” on the homepage to see what I mean.
3. If you click on a page in the nav bar, you’ll see 5 advertisements in the sidebar, although it kind of looks like just one because they’re all right next to each other. How can I add padding on them so there’s space between each individual ad?
