Need Quick Answers to Quick Questions…

  • I’m in a hurry to get my blog up and working the way I need it to within the next day or two. I’ve looked through these forums and documentation, but haven’t seen all the answers I need. Can someone point me in the right direction for the answers to the following questions?
    I’ve downloaded a “WordPress Style” called “Blue Fade” from https://www.alexking.org/index.php?content=software/wordpress/styles.php . How do I install it to change the look of my site? (I don’t want to allow the user to change the look, I just want to change the look permanently.)
    How do I control the order of the categories listed on the main blog page?
    How do I control the order of the links on the main blog page?
    Can I make it so I have to approve registrations?
    Can I limit comments to registered users, but still have the site readeable by the public?
    What are “recommended” plugins to get started?
    What’s the best way to publish images “inline” or along with the text of the blog? Is it using the “upload files” function that seems to be built in, or some other way?
    What’s the best way to add a photo gallery to my site? Do some gallery software packages work better with WordPress than others?
    Can I change how the poster’s name appears in the metadata above the blog entry? Is that controlled by the CSS?
    Are there some features that are better just to turn off to keep it simple?

    Hork, try searching through the forums again. Either using the forum’s own search engine, or with Google, by going to google.com and entering site:www.remarpro.com [keyword] in the search field. All the answers to your questions are here, believe me. You can also try going to the WordPress Wiki at https://wiki.www.remarpro.com . The answers are there too.
