• This isn’t WP related but so many frequent the forums, hoping someone might know where to find this.

I gave my grandpa a computer for Christmas.
The problem is I’m not a good teacher. I desperately need an interactive tutorial which teaches the most basic points of browsing the web – like what the browser buttons do, what a search engine is, etc. free if possible but I don’t mind paying for something if the price is reasonable.

    Any ideas greatly appreciated.
    thank you.
    Cat

  • We can’t get into addressing non-wp stuff – there’s neither time, nor space, nor personnel. A google search in this case is your very best friend. In fact, the best thing you can give your grandpa now is the ability to search google himself…. by showing him how to do it. Since google is simplicity itself, he’ll probably figure it out faster than you’d believe. You might want to set up “safe search” to begin with (or not, depending – but I wouldn’t want my grandpa if still alive to hit some of the seamier stuff first off!)

I didn’t ask for WP personnel to assist. I thought another forum visitor might have ideas. And giving my granpa the ability to search himself is exactly what I’m trying to do.

My apologies for wasting forum space.

Try posting your question to one of the “generic” lists at lists.evolt.org. There are various lists there where people can advise on this sort of thing.
