Need help/critique of first theme mod

  • Howdy. I have been working on my first theme modification (based upon the Green Tracks theme), which you can view at https://babygotbooks.com

    I am realizing that there are a few bugs that need working out. Apparently, this theme treats pages as posts and includes a comment box on my pages. See the about us and contact us pages. How do I get rid of those boxed on those and future changes.

    I guess I’d also like to open the floor to constructive criticism about the layout, etc. Be nice if you can. Thanks.

  • you should be able to edit the page.php template to remove the comments box. If there is no page.php, create one with out the comments.

    Templates will give a little more explanation of the hierarchy within WP. Pages will be more specific regarding creating specialized templates.

    There is no page.php file to edit, which I guess is my problem. I’ll check out the links to see if I can figure out how to create the page.php. I am very inexperienced at this sort of thing.

    OK. I created a page.php file and I copied the format of my index.php and deleted what I didn’t want, inlcuding the comment form. Is there a way to turn off the author/date/time category stamp at the top of the Pages?
