When clicking on the dashboard icon, two options appear: “Visit Site” and “Visit Store”; however “Visit Site” takes you to my site’s home page; whereas “Visit Store” takes you to the “Shop” page.

First question: Are these two options supposed to be there, as seen, or have I somehow messed things up; i.e., Are they a standard part of WordPress or have I, somehow, managed to add one that shouldn’t be there?

Second question: If they both really are a standard part of WordPress, then what is the difference between them/their intended purpose?; i.e. isn’t the site the same as the store; if so, then why the second option?

Third question: Is it normal for the “Visit Store” option to bring one to the “Shop” page on a website or am I being sent there as the result of some crazy link that I must’ve set up accidentally?

I am a total newbie to all of this, trying to figure it out on my own, but not doing too well, so any help would be more appreciated than you can know.

To answer all three questions, yes that is normal. “Visit Site” is part of WordPress and takes you to your site’s front page. “Visit Store” is part of WooCommerce, and takes you to your WooCommerce store’s front page.

Hi James. Thanks for that clarification; I appreciate it.

So, from what you said, it seems that the “Shop” page is the WooCommerce store’s front page, and not the page which I designated as “Home Page.”

Does that mean customers will not see my “Front Page,” when visiting my site? If so, that would be strange, as they would not see the Revolution Slider that I have set up or any of the other stuff, such as “Featured Products” on my home page.

    Yes.

No, those links are only for your convenience in the Dashboard, they have no effect on visitors or the front of your site whatsoever.

Ah, I see! Well, thanks a lot, once again, for that further clarification. Being new at all of this, I feel insecure at every step, wondering if I’ve messed things up or not. It really helps to have some mentoring.

That has already happened, I’m afraid, with a slider that I made; the buttons are no longer working when I’m in maximum-sized screen, but they work fine, when I’m in a minimized screen, and I haven’t the foggiest idea as to why; been that way for three weeks, now, and I’m stuck. But then that’s another story. I can’t get help with that on this site, as I understand it, since it’s a bundled plugin (Revolution Slider).

Well, as stated, I really appreciate your time and trouble in helping me.

Since that is a commercial plugin, we ask that you please go to their official support channel, so you can get support from the people who know it best: https://www.themepunch.com/support-center/

Forum volunteers are also not given access to commercial products, so they would not know why it is not working properly. Other community members who may have faced your issue might be able to help you but your best bet is your product’s developer. Keep in mind we encourage you to use the official support venues, as it allows the developers to be aware of issues with their code and gives back to the community in a more robust way.
