Hi Takis,

I’m currently having difficulty getting your plugin to work on my site. I have successfully installed the plugin without errors, but as yet, I cannot see the adaptive-images folder in my ftp.

I have created a test page with Elementor Page Builder and GeneratePress theme, with basically a full-width image as the header, and some dummy text underneath which you can see at:

https://www.scenicgems.com/test-page-2/.

I have loaded the page on a mobile device, but all I can see is the text.

I’m with A2 Hosting which is linked to Cloudflare CDN if that helps. It’s a new account, so perhaps it needs some tweaking?

If you could assist I would be most grateful.

Hello, Stephen,

I did take a look at your test page and I noticed that, although your website url is https://www.scenicgems.com/ the image inside the page is set without the www like this: https://scenicgems.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/mountain-range-mt-hotham-dusk_1360x720.jpg.

The image seems to be produced and served correctly, if one requests it directly and adds the www like this https://www.scenicgems.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/mountain-range-mt-hotham-dusk_1360x720.jpg. So, I guess this is the issue that should be addressed in the first place.

Also, this way, all debugging urls of the plugin work as expected: https://www.scenicgems.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/mountain-range-mt-hotham-dusk_1360x720.jpg?debug=true, https://www.scenicgems.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/mountain-range-mt-hotham-dusk_1360x720.jpg?debug=original, https://www.scenicgems.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/mountain-range-mt-hotham-dusk_1360x720.jpg?resolution=320,1.

However, if you are set on using a CDN, you should bear in mind that you need to enable the CDN support option in the plugin settings page. But even then, CDN support is still experimental. This means that the plugin might not make it in time to downsize all images in a given page and that CSS background images will not be downsized at all. Also, if the CDN serves your images from a different subdomain or if it does not make HTTP requests in order to retrieve them from your original WordPress installation, then our plugin does not get the opportunity to downsize images at all either.
