Need help with logon issue

    Hi’ll,
    First of all my apologizes for posting this question which I know might have been asked many times before.

    I am really trying to fix the issue with the logon to my blog.
    https://www.vikasranjan.com/blog. When I enter the password , it simply refreshes the page.

    There were couple of different solutions provided in earlier posts. I have tried both: The first one is going to the database and enter a row a:0:{} in one of the table . When I logged on the database, this row already existed in the database.

    Second solution was to rename the plugins folder to something else, try to login and after that rename the plugins folder back to original folder name. I tried that too but no luck. I am really struck for last 3 days or so.

    Please please help with this issue. I am getting little frustrated now as I am still not able to fix it.

  • Have you tried deleting/renaming the .htaccess file in your root WordPress folder?

    Thanks Shane for posting the link. I am finally able to fix the issue.
    I went through all the steps eventually the Change url step was the culprit.

    I looked at the value defined in siteurl field for wp-options table . It was incorrectly pointing to http:/www./vikasranjan.com/blog whereas the correct url for the blog is https://vikasranjan.com/blog. I simply modified the value for siteurl to the correct url and I was able to fix the issue. Trust me it was such a big pain but finally I am out of it.
