Need help with installation

  • Hello! I have been using Greymatter for over 1 year but would like to use WP for a different Blog I would like to create. However I am having problems with the installation of WP. I have read through several help pages but I just can’t find what I did wrong. What I find missing is how to upload the files and which files to chmod. I did chmod the index file and the wp_config.php but are those all to change?
    I would be so greatful if there would be a kind person to install it for me. I am a German lady and I try my best with the English language but I really don’t understand much about databases. My host has the following:
    PHP version 4.3.9
    MySQL version 4.0.22-standard

  • Im Prinzip musst du gar nichts chmoden, zumindest nicht, um das blog zum laufen zu kriegen. Zum Hochladen brauchst du ein ftp-Programm. Hast du wordpress.de gefunden? Die Installation ist wirklich sehr einfach: config.php anpassen — hochladen — install.php im Browser aufrufen.

    I have just found out that my host supports the installation through Fantastico. So therefore I shall try that and hopefully it will work.
