    Hello,

I used the shortcode info freeze the header for the table displayed when you click on the first toggle dropdown for ‘Tutoring Hours (Full Schedule)’, but it doesn’t seem to be working. I thought it was because I didn’t install the extension, but when I attempted to install it my plugin screen said it was already installed. Any help you can provide is greatly appreciated.

    Kind Regards,
    Corey

    Hi,

thanks for your post, and sorry for the trouble.

In addition to installing the Extension, please also check if it’s actually activated as a plugin. Then, you will also have to add the Shortcode parameter as explained on https://tablepress.org/extensions/datatables-fixedheader/
Now, even after that, you might still be running into problems if the table is shown in a collapsable section that only reveals the table after clicking on one of those toggle headings. As this means that the table is initially hidden, the browser can not make certain calculations (about table and columns widths, etc.) which are however necessary.

    Tobias

    Hi Tobias,

I found where to enable the Extension and add the Shortcode parameters, but it doesn’t seem to freeze. Can you take a look at my site if I create a user account?

    Kind Regards,

    Hi,

yes, everything is set correctly now. However, there’s another problem (I hadn’t noticed that the first time): Your table 162 uses #rowspan# to merge/connect cells across multiple rows. Unfortunately, tables that do that are not supported by the JavaScript function of the external DataTables JavaScript library. You would have to remove all #rowspan# from this table.

    Hi Tobias,

My co-worker who has oversight that page content wants to keep the rowspans, or I would unmerge those table cells. Can you tell if the row freeze on the header is working on your end? Could the rowspans be the reason that I can’t see the freeze working? Not sure how to troubleshoot.

    Kind Regards,
    Corey

    Hi,

yes, that’s what I meant: As long as you have the rowspans, you will not be able to use the JavaScript features in this table, which includes the fixed header. It’s “either or” but not “both”.

    Regards,
    Tobias
